Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan Releases Request for Proposal for Event Management Services

Detroit, MI (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan (GSSEM) today released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Event Management Services. The Council, headquartered in Detroit, is the local council chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA to facilitate Girl Scouting experiences for its more than 40,000 girl and adult members in GSSEM?s nine county jurisdiction.

GSSEM is seeking an event management agency to create and manage signature events on behalf of GSSEM over a period of three years. The successful vendor will need to become familiar with Girl Scouts national program, called the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Through national program curricula called Journeys, and other activities, girls experience sets of outcomes associated with Girl Scouts? three keys to leadership?Discover, Connect and Take Action.

?Our national program is at the heart of everything we do. It is at the foundation of every Girl Scout experience girls decide to participate in,? said Denise Dalrymple, CEO of GSSEM. ?The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is how we fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.?

The RFP scope of work includes event management, sponsorship and promotion for some existing events, and others, which the successful vendor will create on behalf of GSSEM. ?Events are critical to retaining and increasing our girl and adult membership,? said Lisa Sorbie, Chief Program Officer. ?The existing events covered in the RFP draw the greatest participation from our membership. We are looking for a service provider with the creativity and local relationships to help grow our current participation, and create new events that engage even more people.?

Parties interested in submitting proposals can download the RFP at http://www.gssem.org, email rfp(at)gssem(dot)org or call 313-870-2505 to receive the RFP via email.
