Ringling College of Art and Design Announces New Board Trustees and Officers

Ringling College of Art and Design today announced new officers and members of the college Board of Trustees.


?I am honored to work with such an esteemed group of board members and am delighted that Ringling College has the benefit of their experience as we continue our advance as a worldwide leader in arts higher education,? said Dr. Larry R. Thompson, president of Ringling College of Art and Design. ?Ringling students consistently receive top honors for their work, as evidenced by the recent Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and American Advertising Federation awards won by our students, and in a similar vein, I feel we are blessed with an award-winning board to guide Ringling into the future.?

?It is a great privilege to work with such an exceptional group of trustees and to have their confidence as we make the decisions that will design and guide Ringling?s future. We have been entrusted with a great creative legacy and we take it very seriously,? said incoming chair Ms. Isabel Norton.


Chair Ms. Isabel Norton has lived, worked and shared her passion, energy and talents for over 30 years in making Sarasota County and the state of Florida a better place for all residents. Isabel served on the initial Steering Committee and Board of SCOPE and co-chaired the Aging: The Possibilities initiative. In addition to chairing the board of trustees for Ringling College she also is Committee chair for the College?s Library capital campaign. Isabel has been a member of the Board of Prevent Blindness, Florida for over 12 years and received their Chairman?s Award for Leadership in 2006. Isabel is a 1993 graduate of Leadership FLORIDA, past Board member of Suncoast Workforce Board and has provided leadership to the Girl Scout Council of Gulfcoast Florida for nearly 20 years.
