Installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a Vostro 1500 offline, missing drivers and can't connect to Wifi or etho
Hello Ubuntu community, I am completely new and naive to the intricacies of Linux or any sort of program at all.
The other day I decided to update to a newer version of Ubuntu (12.10) that I had burned onto a disk. And I guess when updating my computer was not connected to the Internet.
This has seemingly resulted in the computer missing a plethora of drivers. And more importantly being unable to connect to any network. My wifi, or the Ethernet cable when I try it.
I am cautious in trying a bunch of stuff in terminal, as I am not use to it and don't want to fuck things up more.
I am writing this from an iPhone but I can do my best to write out the results of suggested terminal commands. If anyone would be willing to help on this.
Thanks a bunch!
